How To Fix “FF14 3001 Error” in FFXIV Endwalker

On December 7, 2021, a new add-on named FFXIV Endwalker was published for Final Fantasy XIV. Error 3001 had a significant impact on this batch. The problem has been reported on both PC and console builds of the game (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, etc.).

Others have reported encountering the error (with a dark data downloading screen) when zoning a character in the game, while still others have said it appeared following an update to the game. Most commonly, the following message is displayed:

Method 1: Reboot The Router and System/Console From a Cold Start

FF14 3001 Error

Error 3001 in Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker might occur if there is a momentary breakdown in connectivity between your console or system and the game servers.

A cold restart of the router may solve this problem, since it will restore many settings to their factory defaults and may receive a new IP address from the ISP (if a static public IP is not assigned).

Step 1: Shut down the machine and remove the power cord from the wall outlet.

Step 2: Now disconnect the power cable from the router (or other networking equipment like an extender) and turn off the router. If you’re done, unplug the router and all associated network cables.

Step 3: After waiting 5 minutes, reconnect the router’s power cord to its outlet.

Step 4: Connect the networking cables (one from the modem and one to the system/console) and power on the router.

Step 5: After the router has been turned on, reconnect the system’s power cable to its power source and turn the system (or console) on.

Step 6: Check if the error 3001 has been fixed by launching FFXIV Endwalker after a successful reboot.

If rebooting the device didn’t help, try forwarding the ports used by the game in the router’s settings and seeing if that fixes the problem.

Method 2: A Different Final Fantasy XIV Server Might Work.

If the server at the game’s data centre is already at capacity and actively refusing new connections, FFXIV Endwalker will display problem 3001. Here, you can change data centres to fix FFXIV issue 3001.

Step 1: Launch Final Fantasy XIV and press the Play button.

Step 2: Launch the Data Center app and switch to a different location.

Step 3: When you’re ready, hit the Next button and see if the FFXIV Endwalker problem 3001 has been fixed.

Step 4: If that doesn’t work, you can test each of the other data centres until you discover one that does.

Method 3: If You Are Having Trouble With Your Current Network, Switching To A VPN is Your Best Bet.

If your Internet service provider (ISP) blocks access from your network to the Final Fantasy XIV servers, you will see the error 3001 on Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker. If you see problem 3001, switching networks or connecting using a virtual private network may help.

Step 1: Cut the wires or turn off the wireless and plug the system or console into a different network, such as a mobile hotspot. A free Virtual Private Network client is another option.

Step 2: Get Final Fantasy XIV up and running and see if everything is in order. If that’s the case, your Internet service provider (ISP) or router could be at fault.
